Based on customer feedback, WireCrafters Style 840 wire partitions install just as fast or faster than any other brand on the market. Typically, orders using custom colors ship 2-3 weeks from the order approval date.

What colors are available?

WireCrafters keeps several special colors in stock to speed up delivery. We will match any color; usually requiring a sample paint chip be provided. There is an up-charge for custom colors.

What is the lead time for an order with non-stock parts?

In most cases, with approved credit, customized orders for special materials ship in 2-3 weeks or less from the time of final order approval. Ship dates are assigned when the final layout and dimensions have been approved by the customer. Dealers may track their orders on this website after logging in.

What is the lead time for an all stock order?

With approved credit, stock orders ship 48 hours from receipt of order (work days).

Does my order come with the assembly hardware included?

Yes, all assembly hardware, including floor anchors, are supplied with each order along with an Installation Manual.

Are non-standard size panels & parts available?

Yes, WireCrafters can manufacture custom sized panels & parts to fit your exact needs.

Can I email you my sketch or drawing in CAD format? And what other file types do you accept?

What does WireCrafters make?

WireCrafters makes wire partitions that may be used to construct strong and secure cages and enclosures, storage lockers, safety barriers, machine guarding, and pallet rack backing. We also manufacture a line of guard rails, hand rails, and bicycle storage solutions.

Installation

I want to reconfigure our cage. Can I re-use any of the materials?

Yes, materials may be reconfigured. All WireCrafters Style 840 wire partition panels are interchangeable, and there is no difference between wall and ceiling panels. When reusing posts, be sure to recognize the three different types: Door, Run, and Corner. Details can be found in the Installation Instruction Manuals on our website.

Can I change the height of my partition after it is installed?

Yes, the height of the partition may be increased or decreased by adding post extensions and additional wall panels. WireCrafters offers optional parts and accessories to make this easier.

Can I use tek screws for installation?

Yes, you can use tek screws for assembly. All panels are punched with small slotted holes for tek screw assembly and large slotted holes for thru bolt assembly. We recommend using the 3/8" nuts and bolts provided with your order because of the added adjustment and flexibility they offer.

Can I install the product outside?

The product is designed to be installed indoors. We recommend using different coatings - such as galvanizing - if the product will be used in outdoor applications.

Can panels be installed vertically?

No, panels are not designed to be installed vertically. Hole layouts on posts and panels will not align if this is done.

Should the partition be field braced?

The need for field bracing depends on each individual layout and site condition. Most installations do not need to be secondarily braced. Long straight runs are a good candidate for field bracing, as are extra tall installations. WireCrafters offers several optional parts to make this job easier; ask your sales representative about our different options.

How do ceiling panels attach to the wall panels?

In most cases, ceiling panels are attached to wall panels with slotted angle that is bolted to the edge of the top wall panel. Ceiling tubes may also be used as horizontal supports for the ceiling. Specific methods of attachment are detailed in the Installation Instructions.

Can I mount wall panels directly to Door Posts? Or do I need to have a Run Post or Corner Post next to the Door Posts?

The Door Posts are designed to accept mounting hardware for adjacent wall panels. Corner or Run Posts are not needed next to Door Posts.

When should I put a post adjacent to a building wall instead of connecting directly to the wall?

Generally, the type and condition of existing building walls determines if you can anchor the panels to the wall. The building wall must have sufficient strength to hold the anchors. A good rule of thumb is if in doubt, put a post at the wall. This will slightly increase the cost, but may save lots of aggravation and issues in the future.

• Drywall (sheet rock, gypsum board) walls usually require a post at the wall unless you can find a wall stud to anchor the panel.

• Cement block walls provide a solid, sturdy mounting surface.

• Wood walls, or wood strips mounted on walls make a fairly good mounting surface.

• Metal walls are usually too thin for mounting.

Can panels be installed flush to floor?

Yes, partitions can be installed flush to floor. This requires changing the standard hole layout on the posts; a simple modification, but best ordered from the factory. Doors will always have at least a 1" gap between panel and floor.

Product Details

What is a tunnel door?

A "Tunnel Door" is a sliding door designed for no overhead obstruction that rolls on the floor rather than hanging from a track. A "Tunnel Door" can be retro-fitted to standard sliding door openings.

Why do all doors come with two door posts?

Doors for WireCrafters Style 840 wire partitions are designed to be installed with door posts. These posts allow stock hinged and sliding doors (except Dutch style doors) to be universal - mounted inside or outside swing/slide, and left or right handed.

Is there a difference between a door and a gate?

No, the terms are used interchangeably.

How big is 10 gauge wire?

Generally speaking, the diameter of 10 gauge wire is slightly larger than 1/8 of an inch.

What is an adjustable panel?

Adjustable panels are used in layouts that can not be accurately measured, and are designed to fit in between a post or building wall to close gaps at the end of a run of partitions.

Can I add a ceiling at a later date? Or do I have to order it with the original layout?

You can add a ceiling to your cage or enclosure at any time. However, if you are considering adding a clear spanned ceiling, you should plan for it in your original layout. Depending on the width of your enclosure, we may need to position posts directly opposite of each other in order to support ceiling tubes for attaching the ceiling panels.

Are the wall panels and ceiling panels interchangeable?

Yes, we use the same panels for walls and ceilings; there is no difference between the two.

What is the standard sweep space for WireCrafters Machine Guarding & Physical Barriers?

Our standard sweep space for 5'-3 1/4"H & 8'-5 1/4"H barrier is 3 1/4"H. Other sweep space dimensions are available.

Can I order a sweep space larger than 3-1/4"?

Yes, panels can be mounted at nearly any height off of the floor. This does require changing the standard hole layout on the posts; a modification best done in our manufacturing facility.

What is the "sweep space"? And do I need one?

The sweep space is the open area between the floor and the bottom of the panels. It is designed into the system for housekeeping purposes (i.e. cleaning floors, etc.). A sweep space is not required and determining if one is needed depends on your specific application.

Why are stock heights listed 5-1/4" taller than the nominal wall height? (i.e. 8'5-1/4" instead of 8'-0")

WireCrafters lists the overall height of the partition, which includes a 3-1/4" sweep space beneath the wire partition panels, the 8' panel, and 2" post projection above the wire panels for a total height of 8'5-1/4".

Can the top of a wire cage or enclosure be walked on or used for additional storage space?

No, all of our ceilings are non-load bearing.

Do the wire partitions have an impact rating?

Yes, we have a variety of different impact ratings for our different product applications. All impact ratings are available here.

Can panels be manufactured with different types of mesh?

Yes, WireCrafters stocks several different mesh sizes, expandable metal, sheet metal, polycarbonate, and other materials for special applications.

How does WireCrafters wire partition panel system work?

Our panels install horizontally between tubular posts. Stack two or more panels between posts to reach the desired height. Stock sized panels come in widths of one (1) to ten (10) feet in one foot increments. Mount panels to posts with standard nuts and bolts (provided), or use tek screws. Anchor posts to floor using stud anchors (provided).

Shipping

How long before my order ships?

If your order is composed of all stock parts it will be shipped within 48 hours from receipt of order (work days). Custom orders with specialized parts generally ship in 1-2 weeks if they are not a custom color. Orders with custom colors generally ship within 2-3 weeks. Estimated ship dates are set when the final approval drawings are received.

How is my order packaged for shipment? [PHOTOS]

Most shipments are banded onto a wooden skid; posts down the center of the pallet, with panels stacked upright along the edges. See the photos below for a typical Style 840 Wire Partition shipment.

Can WireCrafters ship to international destinations?

Yes, WireCrafters can ship internationally. In some instances the product may need to be crated.

Will my shipment include installation instructions?

Installation Instruction Manuals are included in all shipments. You may preview Installation Manuals on this website. Custom orders also receive a detailed blueprint.

Is freight cost included in my price quotation?

Yes, freight and packaging charges are included in your price quotation. Most of our orders are shipped via LTL carriers. Because we work with these truck lines on a constant basis, we believe we can attain lower freight rates than our customers can on their own. In addition, should your order be damaged during shipment, we can handle the claim if we pay the freight.

Troubleshooting

What should I do with damaged parts?

Please hold onto all damaged parts. Our customer service representative will arrange for the truck line to pick them up. Claims will be denied if damaged items cannot be picked up for salvage.

What happens if I fail to note damaged or missing items at the time of delivery?

Unfortunately, you will have to repair the items or purchase them again. Truck lines will NOT accept claims for damaged or missing items once material has been signed for without exception.

What should I do if my shipment was damaged in transit?

Mark the number of damaged pieces on the truck line's delivery paperwork. Be as specific as possible.

For example, write "DAMAGED: 4 pieces 4' X 10', 2 pieces 4' X 5'" or "MISSING: One box." At the very least, write how many pieces are damaged. DO NOT give in to pressure from the driver and sign the delivery receipt as "Received Subject to Later Inspection."

After marking the delivery receipt as damaged or missing, call us at 800-924-9473 and report the problem to a customer service representative.
