National Donut Day | Mondays With Milt

Milt decided to celebrate National Donut Day at WireCrafters. Take a look at the video below.

National Donut Day

Kelsie, Milt, and Loni all celebrated this unusual holiday by opening and eating a box of donuts. Check out the episode up above! Early Friday morning, I went to Krispy Kreme to pick up 2 dozen donuts for the office and this episode of Mondays With Milt. Because of the holiday, I also received a free donut of my choice (which I took home for myself). I highly recommend the Oreo crumb covered dessert!

History of the Holiday

National Donut Day was started in 1938 as a means to raise money for the Salvation Army. It was created to commemorate the women who served in World War I by providing donuts to the soldiers. A fun fact that I learned about this holiday is that in the 1960s, Marines who were prisoners in a Vietnamese Camp convinced the guards that November 10 was Donut Day. They did this so that the guards would give them donuts. You can learn more about this holiday by visiting The Salvation Army website.
