Larry McDonald Retires from WireCrafters After 40 Years

Larry McDonald, one of our Engineering Department members has retired after 40 years with WireCrafters. I was able to sit down with Larry for a short interview. He started working here in March of 1980, and although he is in the Engineering Department today, that's not where he started. Larry told me he started in the WireCrafters paint line when we had no more than 30 employees total. Today, WireCrafters employs 175 workers among its many departments.

When I asked him why he stayed for so long, he credited the former President of WireCrafters, Steve Diebold. "The man takes care of his employees, and that's important...that's really important," he said. Watch the rest of the interview below.

Long Tenured WireCrafters Employees

Long tenured employees is a common theme among employees here at WireCrafters. Also celebrating 40 years with the company is Roy Eldridge. And right behind Larry and Roy, with 35 years of service, is Greg Hesler. So that means, with just three of our 175 employees, they have 115 years of combined service between them.

I asked Larry what kind of advice he would offer someone joining the workforce at WireCrafters today and he said to work hard and be a part of the team. If you don't feel like you're part of the team, it makes work life difficult. This is great advice from Larry. We wish Larry all the best in retirement!
